A Democrat politician who claimed to be a Jewish immigrant was actually born in Miami, FL and has been a Christian until just a few years ago. She also lied about her father’s faith.
Her brother is the one who outed her as a fraud. I’d love to be a fly in the room on Thanksgiving after this.
Maybe she just ‘identifies’ as a Jewish immigrant and we should let her play this fantasy out.
You could not get away from this story a few days ago. Especially here in Michigan.
Here are some of the headlines:
Those are the Google results from just a minute before I wrote this post. On page one of Google right now, only 2 articles mention that this story was fabricated. Given that up to 95% of users won’t go to the second page (various studies have it 80% – 95%), this is a perfect scenario for this fake news to continue to spread.
“She came in the house and she was wet, like soaking wet, and I’m asking her what happened but she was afraid to tell me because she thought she was going to get in trouble,” Rapier told Fox17. “And then I called my boys because I knew they’d tell me and then they said the guy said ‘stupid N-word’ and started peeing on her.”
After interviewing several of the children who had allegedly witnessed the incident, police arrested David Allen Dean on the charge of felony sex offense excluding assault and commercializing, WWMT reported.
Sounds horrific. I even came close to posting it myself. Then again, I’ve been in the media a long time. I know the patterns, and I’m a cynic. The overwhelming majority of these types of stories are garbage.
You saw the headlines in the image above. This became a national viral story.
Then … the truth:
A thorough investigation by the Grand Rapids Police Department, in conjunction with the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office, has revealed that recent allegation that an adult male urinated on a child were fabricated. After interviews by a trained specialist, the parents of the children talked to them more, and the children admitted the adult make was not involved. One the of the children urinated on another child, and the story was concocted to avoid trouble. Additionally, citizens in the surrounding provided a verifiable alibi for the recorded time of the incident.
We appreciate the conscientiousness of the parents in bringing the matter to the attention of the police, and in continuing to ask their children question as new evidence was obtained.
As I’ve said countless times … don’t rush to validate a sensationalized story. They’re usually hoaxes.
A Facebook post documenting racial abuse that a Saltgrass Steak House server was subjected to over the weekend drew thousands of responses condemning comments of unidentified patrons who called the Odessan a “terrorist” as they refused to tip him.
Khalil Cavil, a 20-year-old Odessan working at the restaurant as he prepares to attend college in Dallas later this year, posted an image of a dinner receipt on Sunday along with a response to the abuse the night before. The diners he had served circled his name, which means “friend” in Arabic, and wrote “We don’t Tip Terrorist.” They left no tip on the more than $108 bill.
“… At the moment I didn’t know what to think nor what to say, I was sick to my stomach,” wrote Cavil, who is black.” I share this because I want people to understand that this racism, and this hatred still exists. Although, this is nothing new, it is still something that will test your faith. All day I’ve had to remind myself that Jesus died for these people too. I have decided to let this encourage me, and fuel me to change the world the only way I know how…”
Saltgrass Steak House restaurant banned the customer and people donated over $1000 to Cavil for some reason. I’m really not sure why we keep doing this considering nearly all of these stories end up being hoaxes. Millennials should stop donating to these frauds so they can actually save up to buy a house.
The waiter, Khalil Cavil, 20, admitted he wrote the racist note himself in a Monday interview with the Odessa American, where he apologized to a reporter “because I did lie to you.”
“I did write it,” Cavil said, refusing to explain why. “I don’t have an explanation. I made a mistake. There is no excuse for what I did.”
Apparently, he’s returning ‘most’ of the money. Whatever that means.
As for the restaurant not investigating before acting like imbeciles …
“After further investigation, we have learned that our employee fabricated the entire story,” Terry Turney, COO of Saltgrass Steak House, told the Odessa American in a statement. “The customer has been contacted and invited back to our restaurant to dine on us. Racism of any form is intolerable, and we will always act swiftly should it occur in any of our establishments.
“Falsely accusing someone of racism is equaling disturbing,” Turney said.
So let’s examine this, shall we?
Fake hate stories like this have been common for about 4 years now. I’m not aware of a ‘restaurant receipt’ story like this actually being true in recent history. Given that hundreds of these fake hate stories have been around for years, the restaurant and public should have been automatically skeptical. Yet they never are. The bigger disappointment is the original media outlet who knew these stories are usually fake, or should have known, falling for the clickbait nonsense and publishing it investigating. After all, the restaurant had the customer’s info to ban them and then reach out to invite them back. Reaching out to them should have been the first thing they did.
At least they fired Cavil for this. I hope his college finds out about it and revokes his admissions if applicable.
Don’t want people singing your lyrics? Don’t put them in your songs.
How utterly stupid people are mad that they are singing a song, but not mad about the song.
A group of Victoria’s Secret models are being ripped by fans after a video of the Angles singing a song with the N-word was uploaded online.
The models, who were backstage at a fashion show in Shanghai, were filmed singing rapper Cardi B’s hit song ‘Bodak Yellow,’ which includes the line: ‘I don’t wanna choose and I’m quick to cut a n**** off.’
A white Minnesota security officer confessed that he made up a story about a black man shooting him to cover up the fact that he shot himself, officials said earlier this week.
Brent Patrick Ahlers, a security officer for St. Catherine University, now faces charges for filing a false police, reports the Star Tribune. He was released from jail Thursday after being booked.
“He was nervous about losing his job due to the fact that he had his gun at work, and what had occurred, so he made up the story to cover what had happened,” police spokesman Mike Ernster told local media Wednesday.
