Was five years in Taliban captivity enough punishment? The military judge in Bowe Bergdahl’s court-martial for desertion and misbehavior before the enemy has apparently reached that conclusion. Bergdahl will get a dishonorable discharge at a lower rank and forfeit his back pay, but will leave the military a free man otherwise:
Stephen Paddock‘s girlfriend may be hiding something from investigators who are trying to piece together the motive behind the Las Vegas massacre, the city’s sheriff suggested in a wide-ranging interview with a local television station.
On Thursday afternoon, Wall Street Journal reporter and MSNBC contributor Eli Stokols ripped into President Trump for not demanding the death penalty for already dead Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock.

Gas prices in Michigan, and the Great Lakes region, could soon rise to their highest levels since 2015 thanks to a number of issues, according to a GasBuddy analyst.
Just think what $168,000 could have done for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. She could have flown a few times to Wisconsin and Michigan, for instance, or possibly have paid for some Facebook memes. The possibilities are endless! Instead, as Fusion GPS disclosed in a statement today, Team Hillary paid almost the same amount of money that Russian trolls paid Facebook to Christopher Steele for the infamous “dossier” on Donald Trump — and then failed to make use of it:
“Although I am touched and honored to be selected for such an award, the ongoing controversy with NFL players’ disrespect for the national flag forces me to decline to participate in the presentation,” Wells said. “I am unable, in good conscience, to enter an NFL stadium while this discourtesy prevails. Since this award is tainted with the dishonorable actions of the NFL and its players, I cannot accept it.”
Jesus Campos, a security guard at the Mandalay Bay hotel who was shot by Stephen Paddock earlier this month, gave his first interview on NBC’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday.
Mandalay Bay shooting hero Jesus Campos was pressured into giving his only interview to Ellen DeGeneres because the giant company that owns the Las Vegas casino feared he would spill the beans about the shooting timeline if he was grilled by real journalists, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.

“If you look at President [Barack] Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls. A lot of them didn’t make calls. I like to call when it’s appropriate, when I think I am able to do it,” said Trump. “They have made the ultimate sacrifice. So generally I would say that I like to call. I’m going to be calling them. I want a little time to pass. I’m going to be calling them.”
“Overcome you transphobia.” Right outta the gate! There it is! Last time I checked not all women were transgender. But this is 2017 and down is up and black is white. So maybe we are all transgender.
I won’t get into the debate about whether the President acted appropriately on that call or not. There are witnesses on all sides disagreeing. The massive emotional toll of losing someone is likely clouding perceptions. Which is understandable. The media choosing to make this a story is truly revolting.
The Associated Press ran a piece on this controversy in which they make a startling claim.
Trump started the storm this week when he claimed that he alone of U.S. presidents had called the families of all slain soldiers.
Here’s a screenshot in case they edit the article in the future:
President Trump made no such claim. Here’s what he really said:
“If you look at President [Barack] Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls. A lot of them didn’t make calls. I like to call when it’s appropriate, when I think I am able to do it,” said Trump. “They have made the ultimate sacrifice. So generally I would say that I like to call. I’m going to be calling them. I want a little time to pass. I’m going to be calling them.”
He later added to this statement after initial criticism started.
“I don’t know if he (President Obama) did. No, no, no,” said Trump. “I was — I was told that he didn’t often, and a lot of presidents don’t. They write letters.”
Here’s the video:
Criticizing President Trump’s comparison of his actions to those of previous presidents is appropriate. What isn’t appropriate is for the nation’s largest news service, the AP, to lie to their readers about what President Trump said. He never made the claim that he was the only president to make those calls, or that he was the only president to call every fallen soldier’s family.
[Tweet theme=”basic-full”]What isn’t appropriate is for the AP to lie to their readers about what President Trump said.[/Tweet]
The AP wasn’t alone in peddling this fake news. ABC, Time, MSNBC, and CNN all did the same, among others. Some outlets focused on Trump seeming to infer that President Obama never made any of those calls. While that is partisan nitpicking considering the President’s near immediate clarification, it’s at least relevant to look at. It is, however, a bald-faced lie to say President Trump claimed he was the only president to make those calls as the AP did.
Here’s the thing, we already knew that Trump’s team was surveilled. That was never in question with anyone but the MSM, and liberal activists with confirmation bias. We know they were surveilled because of the Gen. Flynn leaks. Leaks that could only have happened if he were surveilled. The NY Times admitted Flynn was, in fact, wiretapped.

It looked as if Hurricane Irma’s powerful winds had swirled through the 14 businesses that occupy the Junction Lofts building in Miami’s Little River district. File cabinets were overturned. Pictures were ripped off walls. Papers were strewn about.
“If you want to take a knee or sit during our ‘Star-Spangled Banner:’ Call me a racist ‘cause I’m not PC and think you have to remind me that Black Lives Matter,” he said. “Nazis, f—ing bigots and now again the KKK, screw all you a—holes, stay the f— away.”
Hill tweeted on Monday that Rock, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, pandered to racists and dehumanized black people because he used the Confederate flag at his concerts. Rapaport agreed and called him a “racist” and a “scumbag,” who was a hip hop artist and then switched to country music to make money.
“The comments on Twitter from Jemele Hill regarding the President do not represent the position of ESPN,” the sports network’s public relations department said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. “We have addressed this with Jemele and she recognizes her actions were inappropriate.”
Sorry, basic ladies of America: according to one feminist group, your pumpkin spice latte habit from Starbucks is “funding rent payments to white supremacy.”

CIA Director Mike Pompeo said documents retrieved from the 2011 Navy Seal raid that killed Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden would be released in “weeks”—with the exception of one particular part of the haul, his pornography stash.
Washington Free Beacon has compiled a hilarious yet unsettling short video montage of excerpts from Hillary Clinton’s recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, in which the failed presidential candidate slung blame wildly in all directions, from WikiLeaks to former FBI Director James Comey to “millions of white people” to sexism and misogyny — lots and lots of sexism and misogyny.
We knew Hillary Clinton’s been taking her election defeat pretty hard, but it really seems to be taking a toll on her sanity. And don’t just take our word for it … take hers:
There are establishmentarians, there are big-government establishmentarians, and then there are people who read Orwell and see a parable about insufficient trust in authority:
As fast food employees across the U.S. continue to protest for higher wages, a California chain restaurant has decided to hire a new staff member that works for free. The competition for the company’s low-wage workers: a burger-flipping robot named “Flippy.”
At a private dinner over the summer, Speaker Paul Ryan claimed Congressional support for a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico is non-existent. Only “one member” supports President Trump‘s core campaign promise to build “the wall,” said Ryan.
The Department of Homeland Security has issued a waiver to waive certain laws, regulations and other legal requirements to ensure the expeditious construction of barriers in the vicinity of the international border near Calexico, California. The waiver was published in the Federal Register today.
Speaker Paul Ryan: This week the House is going to vote on all of the appropriation bills. This week the House is going to vote on all of the appropriation bills before the fiscal year deadline… It hasn’t been done in a long time. So the House of Representatives is doing its work. The House of Representatives is doing its job. And the House of Representatives is bringing all of these appropriation bills on budget, on time and that is an historic achievement… We are fully funding the president’s request to build a wall along the southern border.

The bill will also allow Americans to use their Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) to purchase health insurance and pay for premiums, an idea first sponsored by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).
