We’ve all seen the hairpin used to pick a lock in movies, but can it actually be done? Yes, yes it can, and here’s how:
There you go. A full tutorial on how to pick a lock with a hairpin. I know, some of you are upset I’d put this info out there, but knowledge is power. Both the knowledge on how to pick the lock, and how to better protect yourself from said lock picking.
For instance, if you had a padlock with an alarm on it, the alarm would sound when someone attempted to pick it. The padlock below has such an alarm, and comes in two sizes.
Padlocks are good security tools, but they aren’t designed to be much more than a deterrent. Any lock can be defeated given enough time. That’s why I sell padlocks with alarms on them. Try and break one of those, and you get 100db alarm telling everyone around you that you’re scum.
There are many creative ways to crack a padlock, but this method is pretty interesting. It also doesn’t require any special tools. Most people are going to have wrenches around.

A few people thought this trick wouldn’t work on other brands of locks.
Or that Master Lock is somehow a decent lock. Trust me, don’t get a Master Lock.
