Preston-Williams and those working with her on 100 Homes in 500 Days have asked the administration to seek council approval of $6 million — $3 million in each of the next two years — to fund a grant program for the home construction effort. She has said that many people in her west side district can’t find newer homes with three bedrooms, two baths and two-car garages.
