Not only has the liberal MSM behaved this way on old unsavory posts, but they acted exactly the same during the #MeToo meltdown. Eventually, they were forced to finally take down some of their own. Of course, now they are trying to walk back how bad some of their own’s actions really were (i.e. Al Franken).
The Washington Examiner‘s Seth Mandel has a must-read thread on that New York Times article we told you about earlier where they have a meltdown over Trump allies archiving embarrassing tweets from journos.
Sounds less like they’re declaring war on the press and more they realize this is like 87% of what reporters do and they’re getting in on the action https://t.co/e7d6KN2SHC
— Seth Mandel (@SethAMandel) August 25, 2019If you’re a conservative journalist, you have been the target of this behavior by leftist “think tanks”—which are the same ones spoonfeeding reporters their scoops. So what these reporters are calling a “war on the press” is an admission they’ve been waging this war for years.
— Seth Mandel (@SethAMandel) August 25, 2019Most of us have been targeted by the few resources on the right that do this as well, because the right has an obsession with righteous purges. I guess it’s relatively new for lefty journos to have ppl spending all their time trying to get you fired. It’s not fun.
— Seth Mandel (@SethAMandel) August 25, 2019This is gonna be like when, after targeting us for like a year, the alt right harassed Julia Ioffe and suddenly the ADL and other groups were like “wait they’re targeting non-righties? This is unacceptable.”

— Seth Mandel (@SethAMandel) August 25, 2019When you’re telling on yourself, and when that is pointed out to you you’ll say a hacker sent this tweet pic.twitter.com/teIBwTlANw
— Seth Mandel (@SethAMandel) August 25, 2019Companies are to blame too. How many ppl got fired over an old dumb joke, or something out of context, or something the person clearly no longer believes? Stop inviting twitter trolls to run your HR for you and life will be better for everyone.
— Seth Mandel (@SethAMandel) August 25, 2019“We’d like to bring this employee’s poorly worded tweet to your attention.”
