Podcast: Ordinance Is Un-American

Attempts by some members of the , MI city council to ban citizens from choosing their service is another example of oppressive government taking away fundamental rights Americans enjoy.

The kicker is a council member, Dan VandenHeede, saying that taking away your right to choose which service you use isn’t taking away the free markets is Exhibit A in oppressive government. Glad to know he’s a social studies teacher who says he teaches his students ‘civics.’ No wonder American students routinely fail the civics portion of collegiate tests every year.

Government bans on competition, mandating citizens become customers of the one government regulated monopoly allowed to exist, not only never saves money … it’s a violation of one of the basic principles of the United States … freedom of choice.
